Film BA Honours

The University of Westminster BA Film enjoys an international reputation for its combined theoretical and practical teaching. Our students’ films are shown at festivals globally and have won honours through awards bodies including NAHEMI, the Royal Television Society, Learning-on-Screen and Grierson.

The University’s Film BA operates from a purpose-built facility in Harrow, with two large film and television studios, a set construction workshop, a 3D workshop, and post-production facilities for image and audio editing. The environment is both educational and creative, with all students studying film analysis alongside practice-based skills and creative work. We develop critically literate filmmakers who have something to say about the world.

Through an excellent network of industry contacts, students have opportunities for part-time work, placements and work-related learning activities. Accredited by ScreenSkills, and linked to BAFTA albert and the Mark Milsome Foundation, this course equips students for work in industry. The course receives substantial support from employability networks so our students gain experience working with industry professionals, companies and processes before graduating.
